When the New Jersey State Legislature authorized municipalities use eProcurement software, Middlesex County leaders knew they needed a new solution. That’s when they partnered with OpenGov, the leader in modern cloud ERP software for our nation’s cities, counties, and state agencies.

Middlesex County, located in central New Jersey, had struggled with a local vendor’s procurement solution for several years. So, when the State Legislature’s bill was passed in 2021, the decision to switch to OpenGov Procurement was easy. After all, Middlesex already employed OpenGov Budgeting & Planning along with OpenGov Citizen Services. Additionally, leaders had their eye on neighboring Ocean County, NJ, where OpenGov Procurement was used successfully.

OpenGov Procurement provides Middlesex County with a collaborative proposal and bid writer in which project managers, reviewers, and buyers can share key documents and track project statuses. Vendors are guided through an online portal and intuitive workflows—a feature that is likely to increase supplier response rate. With greater efficiency and time saved writing RFPs and bids, County staff can focus on strategic planning and other important initiatives.

Middlesex County joins more than 1,000 public sector organizations leveraging OpenGov to revolutionize work processes with cloud-based software designed specifically for the needs of government.
